Palermo Vacation Packages & Tours

Palermo is one of those underrated cities that’s likely to surprise you with its delights. It’s more low-key than Naples or Rome, although it is home to passionate (and loud) locals along with some magnificent architecture and mouthwatering food. Indulge in everything from delectable, and sometimes unusual, street foods to pastas and pastries. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a food tour and explore the lively markets while you’re here. Nearby beaches like Mondello are the place to be during the warmer months with fine white sands and stunning crystal-clear blue waters. Visitors will find a wide range of things to see and do in the city center, including many impressive churches. In fact, the city’s Arab-Norman architecture earned it a spot on the UNESCO list thanks to several churches that are well-worth visiting. Simply unwinding at a café, soaking up the atmosphere while watching the world go by is always a pleasure too.

When to visit Palermo

Palermo can be visited year round, with the best time to come depending on what you hope to do, your budget, and other factors. Summer is the busiest season and the hottest time of year but it’s ideal for enjoying the beaches and swimming. If you come during this season, prepare for higher prices and big crowds. It gets busy again around the Christmas holidays, but joining in the festivities can be an unforgettable experience. Many feel the very best time to visit Palermo is the spring, a shoulder season, a time when temperatures are pleasant, there’s plenty of sunshine and little rain, and the tourist crowds aren’t at their thickest. Early fall, around mid-September through mid-October may be the next best time to visit. It’s still fairly warm and the water is warm enough for swimming while the summer crowds are gone, though there’s a slighter higher chance of rain as compared to spring.
